preliminary contest results
Thank you to all the wonderful couples who have entered my "green-wedding" contest - I was so impressed, it was really hard to pick a winner. Actually it was so hard, I still haven't been able to decide and I really wish they could all win!
So to make this even more suspenseful I will announce the winner once I return from photographing a destination wedding (sorry - I didnt think this would be so hard!) But this blog entry wouldn't be any fun without announcing some type of winner.
I would have chosen this couple to win the whole contest because of their dedication to truly incorporate sustainable practices into their wedding. Unfortunately I was already booked on their date - I'm so sorry! I thought it wasn't quite fair, so I decided to give them a free couples, 'trash-the-dress' or a 'whatever-you-would-like-to-do' session!
So CONGRATULATIONS to Yi-Ching and Michael!
Their entry was so detailed so I decided to put it on its own special page! Click here to read their entry.
Here is the rocking couple! Thanks to Yi-Ching's brother for the picture.
A special thanks goes out to all the wonderful amazing vendors who took the time to blog about this contest and their support!

I think it's pretty weird that you offer a green wedding photo shoot, and then as a consolation to the couple you thought should be the winners, you offer to do a "trash the dress" shoot. Especially for a bride that bought a pre-owned dress. How eco is that? I love your style, it's beautiful, but I hope you think about what is really green. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGood point! My trash-the-dress session do not actually trash the dress. Its basically a session after the wedding where we do a creative shoot and the bride can feel comfortable allowing the dress to get dirty without having to worry about looking good for the ceremony/ reception. Most brides then dry -clean the dress (which most do after the wedding anyway) and then have them preserved, sold or donated. I even have done trash-the-dress session before the actual wedding since whatever got dirty had to be hemmed anyway. So all the dresses are reusable after the shoot. Thanks again for pointing that out!
